Blasphemous U.S. Mint Brings New Commandment

Via the column of pudgy conservative Tony Phyrillas on NewsVine, I see that the U.S. Mint has snubbed Me. This is one of the new $1 coins:

In God We Trust appears on the edge of the coin, not the front! Tony shares My outrage:

“In God We Trust” has been our official national motto for 50 years and has been imprinted on U.S. currency going back to 1864. Prominently featured on currency, until now.

These are the same words that the ACLU and atheists like Michael Newdow have tried for years to have removed from U.S. currency and “The Pledge of Allegiance.”

Well, if you find yourself hit with a barrage of hurricanes sometime soon, at least now Jerry Falwell will know why. Nothing pisses Me off like money that doesn’t trust Me, especially when My checks are bouncing. Tony tries to get to the bottom of the problem:

Has the ACLU and the militant atheists infiltrated the U.S. Mint?

Actually it’s the ACLUSOST, the ACLU’s Special Ops Strike Team. They’re the same people who come to your bedside when you’re sound asleep and sneak contradictory passages into your Bible. The U.S. Mint had held out against them for decades while they infiltrated the design teams responsible for the U.S. flag, the Constitution, and the Statue of Liberty, not one of which has In God We Trust scrawled across it in a prominent font.

This calls for another of my New Commandments, hereafter to be called the Phyrillas Commandment:

Put My name front and center on your money, or else.

The militant atheists base their objection on the “Establishment Clause” of the U.S. Constitution, which reads:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.*

* = except in their national motto, on their money, and in tax code exemptions. Does not apply to executive orders with titles eerily similar to those the Constitution expressly prohibits.

Those atheists never read the fine print.

  1. wait. The ACLUSOST is French?
(since the statue of liberty was designed and built in France by Frenchmen)

  2. Of course the ACLU is French! Haven’t you been listening to a word Rush Limbaugh says?

  3. Excellent post (except for the pudgy part). You know the camera adds pounds. Many people do not understand the establishment clause in the U.S. Constitution. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion” means the U.S. does not designate an official religion (although 85 percent of U.S. citizens are Christian), but this nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles by men of faith. The First Amerndment refers to freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

  4. “… This nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles by men of faith. …”

No, it wasn’t. Many were Deists not Christians - some quite strongly so. There was a lot more Masonic influence than Christian.

“… The First Amendment refers to freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. …”

That is exactly what it does mean. Everyone wants freedom from the imposition of all other religions, and atheists want freedom from the imposition of all religions.

  5. The American Cthulhu Liberation Front?

    It’s got my vote.

  6. The pilgrims came to America to escape England, where an oppressive religious establishment sought to push its interpretation of Christianity on them. Seeing the danger in this pattern of behavior, they tried to found a land where people could worship Jesus any way they see fit. They surely never meant for freedom to be taken to such extremes as not worshiping Jesus.

I’m glad that “freedom of religion isn’t freedom from religion” philosophy is so popular. Check out this insightful Letter to the Editor about how we should “stomp out” the atheists from America. It calls for atheists to “get off of our country,” and it logically concludes, “I don’t care if they have never committed a crime, atheists are the reason crime is rampant.”

The last point is a subtle but important one. Atheists make up about 10-15% of the total population but only 0.2% of the prison population; basically, they almost never commit crimes or go to jail. Christians see this and run out to commit crimes just so they won’t resemble atheists. The crime rate skyrockets. If atheists committed their fair share of murders, rapes, and robberies like everyone else, you wouldn’t have this problem.

So I would agree with the editorial suggesting you kick all atheists out of your country. Without so many scientists, professors, and other intelligent people holding the USA back, the economy would skyrocket! Just imagine where you’d be with a population full of people with the academic qualifications of Jerry Falwell instead of P.Z. Myers.

  7. I can accept that the US was established as a christian nation. but was it not also founded as a white nation? does that mean that everyone else should shut up and take it in the ass from the WASPs? I think not.

  8. Don’t forget it was also a male nation!

  9. I agree with God. Not only would the economy soar, but we wouldn’t have to worry about terrorism anymore. There weren’t any terror attacks here before atheists and their kind started destroying America with their Godless ways and inviting terror attacks. We need a Gitmo II, just for atheists. Only when they are all rooted out and we have a good old-fashioned Middle Eastern Theocracy will we be safe from bin Laden and his gang.

  10. American Criminal Limbaugh Union–oh what a match!

    Thank you Goddi/Gotti.

  11. Man that Phyrillas dude’s name sounds like an STD. Hope I don’t get it.

  12. I don’t get it - why do Americans (including their president) seem to think that “the US was established as a Christian nation”, when this is quite obviously not the case? I mean have any of these people actually _read_ their constitution? Haven’t they heard that people like Thomas Jefferson couldn’t stand Christianity?

  13. God you are hilarious! I have become a fervent worshipper. Accept my offerings.

  14. How come it took until the early 1950’s for the Founding Fathers to put God on the money.
Since God doesn’t exist, doesn’t that mean that all bills are counterfeit?

  15. “The First Amerndment refers to freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.”

Is Tony serious? I can’t believe this stupid phrase has become so popular when it’s so false.

    U.S. Constitution; Amendment I
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;”

A: Free Exercise Clause = “freedom of religion”
B: Establishment Clause = “freedom from religion”
